Privacy Policy

TickerDesk ("we", "us", "the service") provides a stock research dashboard at tickerdesk.io. This policy explains what data we collect from you, how we use it, and what controls you have. We've kept it short and human-readable on purpose.

What we collect

• Account info — your email address (required for sign-in) and an optional display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and Google account email; we do not receive your Google password, contacts, calendar, or any other Google data.
• Your dashboard activity — tickers you add to your watchlist, weights you assign them, and trade journal entries you log. All of this is stored only against your account and visible only to you.
• Notification subscriptions — if you enable browser push notifications or the Daily Brief email, we store the technical details needed to deliver them (push endpoint and encryption keys for browser; email address for the brief).
• Basic technical metadata — browser user-agent string and device label (e.g. "Chrome on Windows") attached to each push subscription, so you can manage multiple devices.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect or store passwords. Sign-in is exclusively via email magic-link or Google OAuth — your credentials live with the auth provider, not us.
• We do not collect bank accounts, credit cards, brokerage credentials, social security numbers, or any payment information. We do not connect to your broker.
• We do not track you across the web. There are no third-party advertising or analytics scripts on TickerDesk.

How we use your data

• To render your personalized dashboard (My Desk, Watchlist tab, Trade Log).
• To send the Daily Brief email if you've opted in, and the push notifications if you've enabled them.
• To debug failures (we log delivery attempts for emails and pushes so we can tell if a push endpoint expired or an email bounced).

Third parties we use

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles user authentication. Your account row and watchlist live here.
• Resend — delivers transactional email (magic-link sign-in and the Daily Brief).
• Polygon.io — provides the market data (quotes, candles, options flow, news) we display. They receive ticker symbols you look up; they do not receive your user identity.
• GitHub Pages — hosts the dashboard static files.
• Cloudflare — provides DNS, CDN, and an edge worker that proxies market data calls. They see your IP address as the requester, as any CDN does.
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google. Google sees that you signed into TickerDesk.

We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not share your data with any party beyond what is strictly required to render the service.

How long we keep your data

We retain your account and watchlist for as long as your account is active. Notification delivery logs are kept indefinitely (they're small and useful for debugging). If you delete your account, all your data is permanently erased within 30 days.

Your rights

• Access — every byte of your data is visible on your dashboard. Use the Watchlist tab and your account settings to review.
• Export — email us and we'll send you a JSON export of everything we hold on you within 7 days.
• Delete — email us at the address below to delete your account and all associated data. Or unsubscribe individual streams (Daily Brief, push) from the dashboard toggles.
• Opt out of communications — every Daily Brief includes an unsubscribe option; the push notification toggle disables real-time alerts immediately.

Security

Data in our database is gated by row-level security — even our own worker cannot read your data without your user ID. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS / TLS). We use only services with industry-standard security postures.

That said, no system is perfectly secure. Don't put information in TickerDesk that you couldn't tolerate becoming public if we had a catastrophic breach.

Children

TickerDesk is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced via the Daily Brief or an in-dashboard banner.
